Let's get to the MoonWard: Pirates of the Mesmer Sea details!
New Stories!
My first draft has 9 stories in it but I might combine some. Either way, that's more handmade content than in some counties right now! So that's a lot! I'd say at least an hour and a half of extra play time if you're rushing through!
New Bounties!
I'm planning on introducing a new faction to the bounty pool. It'll bring around 10 new bounties. This new faction will be the Imperial Navy and won't be available outside of the Expansion for lore reasons.
New Items!
I'm least certain about this but I doubt it'll be less than 20 new items. This will include all sort of new loot, rares, legendaries, as well as new consumables, quest items and valuables.
New Enemy!
I've got plans for a new high-level enemy of the Elemental type. This will come with a handful of bounties for the later counties!
New Locations!
Based on my draft I'll have to create about a dozen new location images ranging from ships to ancient ruins. AND a brand new county intro and environment!
New NPCs!
So far I have 10 new characters as part of the new stories. I may cut these down a bit because this is usually the hardest and most expensive art to produce. On top of that I have 8 to 10 for the new faction and at least 2 for the new enemy. Overall I think I'll have about 20 new character icons in this expansion. That's a huge amount. In fact this is the part I'm worried about the most and subsequently the part that might see the most cuts, though I'll try my hardest!
The big one! New County!
That's right - I'm planning on adding a whole new map for the Expansion! I can't say much because I'm still ironing out the details but the story will be set on a collection of islands so it's a good bet you'll get an archipelago of sort! This will be quite a lot of coding to get working as the map systems right now aren't built for this! But I'm sure it's doable, and without creating too much spaghetti code too! I just need to overhaul a large part of my codebase. Easy 😅!!!
A couple last things. MoonWard is and always will be a one time purchase on each platform and all Expansions and updates are and always will be FREE! There will never be advertising or in-app purchases and I'll never use season passes, crypto, NFT, LLM or any other buzzword in my games. I believe in the creativity and integrity of myself and those I work with and that a game is meant to be played and felt, not be an investment or a daily grind.
